Astron in Athens has long stood as a pillar of Athens’ electronic music and club culture. Originally a small but fiercely influential space in Psiri (known as Astron bar on Taki 3 street), it earned respect over 16 years by nurturing the local scene and hosting both international and domestic DJs who pushed boundaries. Artists such as Abdulla Rashim, Claudio PRC, Helena Hauff, JASSS and DJ Bone helped define its sound — raw, exploratory and rooted deeply in electronic culture. Despite its modest size, Astron cultivated a dedicated crowd that came for the music first and foremost. There was no focus on glitz or trends — instead, the emphasis was on sound quality, authentic programming and a shared love for electronic rhythms. A strict no‑photo policy reinforced that belief, encouraging guests to live fully in the moment rather than document it. After closing in May 2023 due to gentrification pressures in Psiri, the team took the opportunity to relocate to a larger space with improved acoustics and room to breathe. The new venue maintains Astron’s core DNA — cutting‑edge electronic music, serious DJ lineups and a community‑driven vibe — while giving the sound environment the upgrade it always deserved. Visitors can expect an atmosphere where music and culture lead the experience: deep, immersive sets, intense sound, and a crowd that’s there for the beats and the connection. Astron remains a place where the essence of electronic clubbing in Athens is lived, not just heard.
